VERSATILE GRASSES
Strong and graceful vertical lines can be achieved by using Ornamental Grasses in the landscape. Their many forms make them an interesting addition to any garden, and create a stately appearance in a container. Summer colors include blue, pink, silver, green, and variegated, to enchanting warm golden tones in fall and winter. Plant height varies from 6-12 inches to 4-6 feet. Variety characteristics:

Acorus gramineus “Variegatus'” Striped Japanese sweet-flag. Green and creamy yellow variegated stiff erect foliage. Excellent at pond-side. pcsm

Miscanthus sinensis Slender, flowering ribbon-like blades of foliage with sprays of bloom atop the foliage. Many cultivars available in a wide range of colors. pcsm

Muhlenbergia capillaris Very showy, delicate pink flowers that float above the foliage like cotton candy. m

Panicum virgatum Stiff upright plant structure with narrow foliage and light airy blooms. sm

Phalaris arundinacea Strawberries and Cream, a ribbon type grass with a delicate pink and green variegated foliage. flower spike also take on a pink blush. pm

Sorghastrum nutans Sioux Blue, a native North American grass, 'Sioux Blue' was part of the tall grass prairies of colonial America. Excellent in mass plantings or in prairie restoration. This is an absolutely beautiful grass with metallic blue foliage. sm
